How did I decide that wedding planning was for me? Simple, always having a passion for planning parties as a little girl growing up. I also enjoyed planning all school activities as well. When time for college came around I knew I wanted to do something that would allow me to be be a part of one of the two most important moments in a woman’s life. Either the day she gave birth or the day she got married, but I had no clue as to how exactly I would achieve that. All I knew was that my nickname as the “balloon girl” amongst my friends reminded me constantly that I couldn’t overlook that passion for parties and events in my life. 10 years later and after much consideration and consulting, with 300 dollars I opened my very own event planning company. While in college I found myself being offered business opportunities by my teachers and assisting in teaching my classmates our hospitality courses as well. Soon after that, I decided to focus completely on my own business. At the age of 19 I was planning events for clients like Air Jamaica, American Cancer Society, Ford Motors, Make a Wish, and numerous celebrities in South Florida.
A couple months later, I attended my first bridal show and my passion for weddings began to blossom. I met Johnny Caride at my very first bridal show and with his support began to move forward in the pursuit of building my Wedding business. I can’t say it’s been easy, because it hasn’t, but throughout these 10 years I have met some of the most important people in my life. I have met professionals with the same drive and dedication I have, many that have taught me priceless lessons. As well as meeting many special couples as well.
I have worked as Catering Manager & Catering Director for several properties in South Florida throughout the years, giving me the hands on experience I have, but always going back to my foundation in wedding planning and event production which is where my heart always is.
After hundreds of Bridal couples, I would have to say that there are many I have grown close to, Spent many months of planning with them, listening to stories shared as to why this is the most important day in their life, many stories as to why they want this day to come soon. Countless tears shed as we pick their wedding song and many conversations as to why the reason for the planning is so much more meaningful than the process itself. The nerves, the stress, the family…The wedding planning….Its what I chose and its who I have become.
And I wouldn’t change it for the world, because when its all said and done…I can see it all come together to witness weekend after weekend that true love still exists, as I watch a different couple look into each others eyes and hold each other while they dance their first song as husband and wife…and its JUST that privilege that makes it all worthwhile to me.
